You’ll stumble upon a pile of fantastic curriculum at great prices, mostly second-hand. Whether you’re checking out nationwide groups, online consignment companies, or local groups, there’s something for everyone.
These pages aren’t just for buying! They’re goldmines for selling your used curriculum too. When we’ve been in some tight financial spots, using these resources has been a game-changer for our homeschooling journey.

There are severalplaces online you can easily find used homeschool curriculum. Some sites give you a platform for buying directly from others, and some will be the middle-man in the purchase.
Search for the comfort and security level you are willing to deal with. Keep in mind that the more direct the sale, the more money you will make from the sale. Selling to a third-party company will result in a lower sales price, but likely more ease on your part!

Word of caution on buying and selling used curriculum. While most folks are legit and make fair deals, you might encounter the occasional scammer or other hiccups. Just be careful. Read the description thoroughly, and don’t be afraid to ask questions!
Oh, and don’t forget about shipping. Prices usually include shipping costs, and the wait might be a tad longer than buying new. Used homeschool curriculum sales are not worth it to everyone, but if you’re up for it, you can snag some incredible bargains, and make much of your investment back!

One pro tip: every group has rules, so don’t forget to check those out before diving in. Some even have specific payment methods that are required to ensure everyone’s protected. From what I’ve seen, Paypal is the most common service used among these groups.
2. Homeschool Classifieds
Homeschool Classifieds is a platform designed to assist the buying and selling of new and used homeschooling materials, resources, and curriculum. It provides a marketplace where homeschooling families can connect to buy and sell materials, textbooks, teaching aids, and more.
On Homeschool Classifieds, users typically create listings for the items they want to sell, and others can browse through these listings to find resources that fit their needs. Set up in a basic forum style similar to Craigslist or the like, you can easily manage your own listings for free. Paid plans are available for more listings.

3. Second Harvest Curriculum
Second Harvest Curriculum is a website that specializes in used homeschooling curriculum. It is a traditional consignment website, where families can sell their resources to the company. The company will then sell the used curriculum for you on their site. Buyers can purchase any materials they want without making multiple purchases from multiple sellers.
Using a website with this style makes things easy for individual families to sell their materials. It is also quite easy to find and buy what you need on their site, all at great used prices!

Homeschool Used Book is a newly established platform that sells homeschooling materials through a unique online format. It functions similar to a typical online store, but manages to keep the handling of materials directly between the buyers and sellers. It’s a win-win situation.
Here’s the basics of how it’s set up:
Homeschool Used Book allows families to create their own shops on the site with unlimited free listings. When buyers make a purchase, they follow a standard online store process, buying from multiple sellers as desired, all in one transaction. The company facilitates the process by providing shipping labels to sellers, handling payment services, and resolving any issues that may arise. Sellers pay fees to the site only after the transaction has been made.

5. Local Bookstores
Do you have a homeschool bookstore near you? Check out google and see. There aren’t a lot around the country, but maybe you are one of the lucky ones!
These homeschool stores are often filled withhomeschool curriculum, both new and used, that you can buy as well asworkers you can speak withabout homeschooling options that may work well for you. These stores often will even accept curriculum for consignment!

Many homeschool groups and co-ops host book sales for used homeschool curriculum. Local homeschool families canbring their books to sell and also buy new booksfor their family! This is an easy way to save some money each year on homeschool curriculum.And one of the best parts is you don’t have to pay for shipping!
One of the best ways to find out about these sales is tojoin a local homeschool group either in person or online. You can search for your city or county along with “homeschool” in Google or the Facebook app. Hopefully you will find local options to join that will spread the word on local sales.

ThriftBooks is an online platform that specializes in selling used books at affordable prices. While it’s not designed specifically for homeschool curriculum, it can be a great resource for finding affordable homeschooling materials, including some textbooks and literature commonly used in homeschooling.
ThriftBooks is primarily a platform for buying books, and does not function as a marketplace for families to sell their used books. Instead, ThriftBooks sources its inventory from various places, including libraries and donation centers.
