"Tastes like a pizza, cuts like a pizza, yet there is no dough....though do have a fork and knife on hand for eating purposes because it can get a little messy if eaten with hands only. I am a South Beach dieter with a love for Italian foods and this is what curbs my craving for pizza. I love mine with the turkey pepperoni slices, onion, green peppers and mushroom. Serve with a tossed salad or marinated veggies."

  1. This was great! I cooked in a pie plate. I sprinkled parmesan cheese under the meat to keep it together. I also cooked onion and garlic with the meat. Even my picky eater loved it!

  2. This was great! I added a little more mozzarella to meat and it stayed together well. I didn't add the sauce. I put it on the side as a dip to save a little on carbs. I sautéed onions for top and green peppers. It was a great low carb meal! Husband loved it too! Definetly make again!

  3. This was great!! I am on a low carb, high protein diet in order to beat infertility and help control my PCOS. I had been craving pizza and just couldn't find the right substitution. This will definitely make it into my regular rotation. My 10 year old even said he would eat this before regular pizza any day!!

  4. great! I used it with regular pasta sauce and it was slightly watery, but I let it stay longer in the oven to evaporate off. Thanks for the recipe!

  5. My husband and I both loved this! We cooked ours in a circle pan and used a little extra meat to create a thicker meat crust. I also put it in the broiler for about 2 minutes at the end to crisp the topping. Very very yummy.

Tweaks

  1. I stopped finishing mine off in the oven. I have cooked it on occasion in the air fryer just to brown up the cheese. Now, I do everything in the skillet and add half of the pepperoni to the top of the meatza in the skillet. The other half of the pepperoni amount I zap in the microwave to make it crispy like it had been baked in an oven. The combination of crispy and chewy really takes on the real pizza resemblance. Just make sure to brown that ground beef on a high heat and fast. Giving it that seared brown crust makes all the flavor.

  2. I really enjoyed this, but not as much as DH did. I was pleasantly surprised how much he loved it- and he even said to make 2 pizzas next time! I used ground turkey instead of beef, and perhaps should not have done that, as it was runny, probably due to turkey's water content. But it's such an easy and tasty way to enjoy some favorite flavors.
