Back to school season means the anticipation of Show and Tell! Kids love this age old tradition of bringing an item in to share with their peers. It can be a mind bending decision trying to decide what to bring in; after all what your child has in mind and what you have in mind can be two very different things. So what should you decide on? Look below at 10 creative show and tell ideas for kids, so your child can shine at Show and Tell and have fun showing off something unique and fun.
- Their favorite fruit.
Encouraging healthy eating is always a good idea. Have kids bring in a piece of their favorite fruit so they can show peers healthy foods they like to eat. An apple, orange, or banana are all perfect for showing off during show and tell.
- A stuffed animal that makes them feel safe.
If your child has a favorite doll or stuffed animal they like to sleep with, they can certainly share that with friends. Let kids show off their favorite plush and tell where they got it and share what they love so much about it.
- A picture of them as a baby.
Kids get a kick out of baby pictures! Let kids share a picture of them as a baby so their friends can get a good chuckle. Kids love looking at old pictures so this is also a nice time to reminisce together as you dig out photos.
- Their favorite cup to drink out of.
Does your child have a favorite mug, cup, or dish? Then why not show that off? Kids can explain why they love the item so much and what they like to eat or drink out of it.
- A copy of their favorite movie.
Does your child have a favorite movie? Let them take their favorite movie to show their friends. They can talk about the plot and why they like it so much.
- A craft that they made.
Does your child like to get crafty? Have them share their most recent work of art. Have your child take in a sculpture, painting, or other crafty item they made. They will have fun showing off their creativity to their peers.
- A gift they received for their birthday.
Did your child get a special gift for their birthday? If so, why not take that to show and tell? They can share the gift, tell about the person who gave it to them, and even say a little bit about their birthday party.
- A favorite bedtime book.
Have your child take their favorite bedtime book to share. Your child can share the title, author, and give an overview of the book so maybe their friends will want to check it out.
- A favorite snack.
Have kids bring in a box (it can be empty) of their favorite snack. They can tell what they love about the snack and when they like to enjoy it.
- A picture of their pet.
While most school won’t allow you to bring real animals in, pictures are always great! Let your child bring in a picture of their pet to share with friends.
